Last September, my youngest daughter gave birth to her first son—grandson #2 for me! Within minutes of his birth, he was swept away to the neonatal intensive care unit and spent several days on aggressive life support. Then, in February of this year, my oldest daughter gave birth to twin boys—grandsons #3 and #4 for me! They were born healthy, but were several weeks premature and spent their first weeks in the hospitals neonatal intensive care unit. During these weeks and months, our family spent a lot of time visiting the boys and praying for their health and strength. We were blessed and encouraged to have hundreds of friends praying through this experience with us—including friends from Cameroon, Nigeria, India, and Papua New Guinea. One of the great blessings of serving in Bible translation is the opportunity to work side-by-side with tremendous national colleagues around the world. They become more than just colleagues. They become dear friends whose lives, families, prayers and faith become personally intertwined with ours. Each one is a unique gift from Gods hand. Today there are over 130 international partner organizations collaborating in the Wycliffe Global Alliance. Three of these partner organizations have asked Wycliffe Associates if we would recruit experienced human resources (HR) professionals to strengthen their personnel management processes, train and mentor their local HR teams, and support their national teams. The immediate priorities are in Kenya, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea. This is a tremendous opportunity to use your professional skills and experience to build the capacity of key national partners in Bible translation. If you, or someone you know, would like to hear more about these service opportunities just reply to this email or call Erika Klingenberger toll-free at 1-800 THE WORD (800-843-9673). Erika can give you specific details on these service opportunities and their impact on advancing Bible translation. Pray with us that God will use you to connect us with the right people to meet these strategic needs!
